    Description

Thank you for visiting Angie Mae's Attic!
This listing is for a very cool hand-crafted piece of history. It is a toy/tabletop rocking horse from the distant past. Not much is known about this mysterious antiquated equine, but it sure makes for neat decor and certainly a great conversation piece! Perfect on a bookshelf or above your cozy fireplace.
Primitive wood-carved and hand-painted by a skilled artisan. There are lines that may suggest that it was carved in pieces and joined together. Artist possibly used a type of glue to join the legs to the body when it was created as evidenced by residue near the join areas. Antique horse is affixed to platform by pole with wheels that is attached to a rocker sled. The tail does appear to be made of real horse hair. Each individual strand is brittle. The saddle is decorated with folk art style paint. Wheels are made of wood and do stick.
There are no markings or stamps on the horse that would indicate when it was created.
Rocker Sled is approximately 13" long
Wheeled Platform is approximately 9" long
Horse is approximately 9" tall from front foot to top of head
Horse body is approximately 8" from head to rear end
    Tail is approximately 5".
Thank you for considering this magnificent piece for your collection!
