Here for your consideration is a wonderful, vintage/antique, hand carved, wooden hobby horse. I need to tell you, this is totally out of my "area". I am not an expert on anything, but all I can tell you about this big guy, is what I was told when I bought him and what I can see.
I was told that he is from the 1950s. It COULD have been a kit to buy, sand, paint and put together. I don't know that, it was mentioned to me as a possibility, so I am sharing that with you. The tail fits in to a hole, in his/her behind. It appears that he/she came in pieces that could be finished separately and put together. You could paint them any color you want. If you feel artistic, you could repaint this horse to go with your decor. Just a thought.
He/she measures approximately 25 inches tall from the bottom of the rocker to the tip of his ears. the rocker length is approximately 24 inches. The width of the rocker is approximately 8 1/2 inches. Across his chest he is approximately 5 inches wide.
He looks to be in great condition to me. The only flaw I see is a hairline crack in the saddle. Please see pictures, it shows there.
You could use it for decoration, to sit a doll on, maybe a conversation piece. And you could repaint it if you want to. It does appear to be all original with no repairs that I can see.
I don't know the value of the hobby horse, but I am going to base my asking price based on the amount of money that I have in it.
I need to tell you that it will be a LARGE, HEAVY package. It is supposed to show what it would cost to ship FEDEX if you click on shipping details in the auction. Also, sometimes it doesn't cost quite as much as is charged. In that event, I refund the difference in even money. I never try to make money on shipping. It is so high and I appreciate my buyers, so I look for the best price to ship.
Please view the pictures and ask any questions before bidding. I could miss something that is important to you. These pictures are a large part of my description and are of the actual item(s) you will be receiving.
I am a retiree that enjoys selling on EBay for something to do.
I have a smoke free, pet free home.
I do combine shipping whenever possible. EBay requests that you use the "add to cart" button if you are going to purchase more than one item. That will help with your combined shipping. I am not a business, so I cannot sell on approval. I use EBay calculator for shipping and it is supposed to give the shipping amount based on your zip code. That should give the minimum shipping cost. I do not charge a shipping fee, or for shipping supplies, nor for transportation to and from the post office. If you have questions, please ask them before you bid. If you have special payment needs, please talk to me before you bid. I will leave feedback when I know you have received your item and are happy with your purchase.
If you have any problems, please contact me and let me know.
I cannot correct a problem that I do not know exists.
I am honest and try to describe items as best I can, however, I could miss something that is important to you. So, if you have questions, please feel free to ask. I will do my best to answer your questions.
Thank you for taking the time to consider my auctions. I appreciate that.
