The Supro Memphis pickup is faithful reproduction of the hum-cancelling pickup found in the iconic National New Yorker archtop guitar played by trailblazing Tennessee Blues guitarist Memphis Minnie. The unique tone of this pickup is achieved by splitting the pole pieces into two separate coils and winding with opposite polarity and phase to achieve a humbucking (noiseless) performance with a single-coil sound. With a full, wide-open sound that works equally well in archtop, semi-hollow and solid body guitars, the Supro Memphis is the ultimate pickup for vintage blues and jazz tones.
